Nigerians attacked in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida, Sushma Swaraj seeks report from Yogi govt

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today sought information from the Uttar Pradesh government over the arrest of some Naigerian nationals for their alleged role in the death of a class 12th student in Noida.

“I have asked for a report from Government of Uttar Pradesh about the reported attack on African students in Noida,” she said in a tweet.

According to media reports, five Nigerian students were picked by the police for their role in the death of the class 12th student reportedly due to drug overdose on March 25.

According to reports a class 12 student in Greater Noida’s NSG Black Cats Enclave had died due to alleged drug overdose prompting the cops to book and detain five Nigerians living in the vicinity. They were later released due to lack of evidence.

Four Nigerian students, according to News18 report, have sustained severe injuries after a group of locals attacked them in Pari Chowk, Noida.
