Filmmaker Boney Kapoor broke down in public while talking about legendary Sridevi ahead of the National Awards function. Sridevi, Boney Kapoor’s wife, has been chosen for the Best Actor (female) category for her role in ‘Mom.’
Speaking ahead of the awards function, Kapoor said, “I am missing her a lot. It’s a very proud moment at the same time.” He became incredibly emotional and struggled to continue with his conversation. After gathering his composure for few seconds, he continued, “She would have been happy, very, very happy being here. What more should I say?”
Kapoor then said that he was feeling ‘elated and proud that she (Sridevi) has been recognised for the hard work she’s put in in this film.’
“There cannot be a bigger honour than the National Awards. She was in this line for 50 years, done almost 300 films. She won many awards but this tops the list.”

Sridevi had died of accidental drowning in Dubai in February this year. She is survived by two daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor. Janhvi will soon be making her Bollywood debut with Dhadak opposite Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khattar.
Dressed in yellow top, Janhvi was sitting next to Dad Boney Kapoor as he spoke about what the National Awards would have meant to Sridevi.
Soon after Sridevi’s death, Kapoor had posted an incredibly emotional message in memory of his wife. 62-year-old Boney Kapoor was married to Mona Kapoor and had two children, Anshula and Arjun, before he married Sridevi. Arjun is already an established Bollywood actor.
