India’s moral police on Twitter have targetted the Indian women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj after the iconic player posted an innocuous photo of herself having good times with friends on Twitter.

Raj, who was recently instrumental in taking her team to the Women’s World Cup final, posted a photo on Twitter with caption, “#tb #PostShootSelfie #funtimes #girlstakeover.”

She was soon being trolled by users who found her choice of dress inappropriate.

However, there were many who loved Raj’s pic, now liked more than 13,000 times.

Reacting to Janta Ka Reporter story, Delhi Commission for Women chief, Swati Maliwal said, “How dare they? India is proud of @M_Raj03. Most people calling her names havent n wont achieve even half of what she has done. Idiots!”

During the just concluded World Cup, Raj had smashed many records including hitting seven consecutive half centuries and surpassing former England captain Charlotte Edwards by becoming the all-time highest run-getter in ODIs. She also has the most number of 50s in ODIs, 49 to be precise.
