The missing law student from Uttar Pradesh has been found from Rajasthan after seven days. BJP MP Swami Chinmayanand Saraswati was accused of kidnapping her, leading to the filing of a case after considerable public outcry. The girl has been found just days before the Supreme Court was expected to take up her case.

A tweet by the UP Police read, “In Shahjahanpur episode the girl has been located by Shahjahanpur police in Rajasthan along with her friend. Necessary legal action is being taken.”

The girl, a student of SS Law College, had accused Chinamayanada (who is also the director of her college) of ‘destroying the lives of several girls.’

The girl had gone missing after posting a video on social media. In her video, she claimed to have secured proof that can cause trouble for the BJP leader. She had claimed that the BJP leader was threatening to eliminate her and her family.

She was heard saying in the video, “I am (name withheld) from Shahjahanpur and am pursuing LL.M from SS College. A big leader of the saint society, who has destroyed the lives of several girls, has been threatening me with (my) life. I have all the evidence against him. I request Modi ji and Yogi ji to please help me. He has even threatened to kill my family.”

“Only I know what I have been going through. Modi ji please help me, he is a sanyasi and is threatening that the police, district magistrate and everyone else is on his side and no one can harm him. I request you all for justice.”

72-year-old Chinmayanand, a three-term MP, has a huge ashram in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur and also runs five colleges in the town.

The girl’s father had told NDTV that he was pressure police to change his complaint. This had prompted many to draw a parallel to the infamous gang-rape case against BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar. The BJP was forced to expel Sengar from the party reluctantly after the Supreme Court took a dim view of the rape victim’s suspicious road accident last month.

In Sengar’s case, the victim’s father had died in police custody after cops allegedly tortured him.
