In an unexpected cabinet reshuffle, the Delhi government on Monday announced giving the additional charge of law ministry to law ministry to the deputy chief minister, Manish Sisodia.

Sisodia will now replace Kapil Mishra, who was asked to look after this ministry after the Jitendra Tomar’s arrest in a fake degree case in June this year.

A Delhi government spokesperson said there was nothing significant about this reshuffle describing it as a ‘routine matter.’

Mishra will continue to function as Delhi Jal Board vice chairman and minister for water and tourism.

Delhi government’s law ministry has always been a subject of controversy in both the terms of Aam Aadmi Party in government.

Its first law minister, Somnath Bharti, was embroiled in a big controversy after Khidki Extension raid allegedly targetting African women.

In its second term, Jitendra Tomar had to resign as law minister after he was arrested by Delhi police in a fake degree controversy.
