Sambit Patra trolled after seen stuck in Mumbai’s waterlogged street holding shoes in hand

Controversial BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra on Tuesday was spotted being stuck on a waterlogged Mumbai street. Soon, the photo of Patra holding his shoes while holding an umbrella went viral on social media platforms.

According to ANI, the photo was taken on Tuesday when Patra with Maharashtra State Spokesperson Keshav Upadhye were seen wading through water while they were going to Mumbai BJP’s office in Dadar East.

The photo provided plenty of fodder to social media users, many of whom were quick to pounce on the saffron party spokesperson. User IndiaWithPMModi wrote, “Headline should be like this, ‘Sambit Patra ready for debate with shoes in hand.” Another user Pradeep Gupta sarcastically wrote, “Today Sambit Patra will shower praises on Maharashtra Chief Minister for converting Mumbai streets into water park.” Another user Gursatinder Singh wrote, “Newly appointed VC of Jio University going to his office on his first day.”

Ironically, the photo of Patra stuck in knee-deep water with another BJP leader went viral amidst BJP minister in the state government denying the reports of water-logging in Mumbai.

Education Minister Tawde told reporters that according to the BMC, there was no water-logging in the city.

“Disaster Management has reported that there is no situation of waterlogging in Mumbai. Concerned authorities are keeping a track of the situation. There’s nothing to worry as disaster management is ready to face any situation,” ANI quoted him as saying

Normal life in Mumbai has come to a standstill as heavy rains adversely affected residents living in India’s financial capital. The downpour caused traffic snarls and people were seen walking through knee-deep water. Trains have either been cancelled or are running late.

Life in Mumbai comes to a standstill during the monsoon every year. The pathetic civic condition despite Mumbai Municipal Corporation being the richest civic body in the country has often been a topic of social media ire.
