Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi is set to lose his job as the T20 skipper after the ongoing World T20 in India.

The news came after Pakistan’s crushing 6 wicket defeat by India at the Eden Gardens on 19 March.

Pakistan Cricket Board ( PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan, who had slammed Afridi for his dismal performance during the crucial tie against arch rival India adding that the board would start looking for a new skipper after the conclusion of the tournament, ANI quoted the Express Tribune.

Afridi failed to replicate his good performance as he had displayed during their win against Bangladesh in their World T20 campaign opener and eventually got dismissed after scoring just 8 runs from 14 balls.

The 2009 World T20 champions will now face New Zealand at the Punjab Cricket Stadium in Mohali on Tuesday.
