LIVE UPDATES: “Rahul Gandhi was on picnic, is party run like that?” RJD launches stunning attack on Congress for Bihar poll debacle

RJD leader Shivanand Tiwari has launched an extraordinary attack on his party’s alliance partner, the Congress, blaming its leader Rahul Gandhi for the poll debacle in Bihar. Tiwari said that Gandhi was holidaying in Shimla when elections ‘were in full swing’ in Bihar.

In a vide shared by news agency ANI, Tiwari was quoted as saying, “Elections were in full swing & Rahul Gandhi was on picnic at Priyanka ji’s place in Shimla. Is party run like that? Allegations can be levelled that manner in which Congress is being run, it’s benefitting BJP.”

In the just-concluded Bihar elections, while the RJD emerged as the single-largest party with 75 seats in the 243-seat assembly, the Congress was reduced to just 19 seats even though the party contested 70 seats. The Congress was blamed for causing the defeat for Mahagathbandhan or the Grand Alliance.
