LeT militant killed in gunfight at Pulwama, Kashmir, major breakthrough for security forces

A local militant was killed in a fierce gun battle between  security forces and militants in  south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, 40 kilometers away from Srinaga , police said .
Killed militant has been identified as Talib Ahmad Shah alias Umar of banned outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
Police said that Shah was involved in several killings and attacks on security forces. Talib had joined militant ranks in 2012 and was active member of Lashkar  since .
On a tip off  heavy contingents of   police,army and CRPF  personals  surrounded Asthan Mohala , Kakapora where militants were  hiding in a residential house.
Militants hiding inside the house started firing upon security forces, resulting in an encounter. Three militants, sources said, were holed up in a house in which one  has been killed  so far.
After the news of killing of a militant in the area spread, clashes erupted between stone-pelting protesters  and the forces.  Gun fight was going on at the time of this report being filed.
