It seems that the series win against India has lifted the Bangladeshi cricket fans above ‘cloud-9. A renowned Bangladeshi newspaper has now published a fake advertisement campaign of a stationery company which shows cricketers of Team India’s playing eleven (which toured Bangladesh) with half shaven heads (a sign of humiliation).
In the background, Bangladeshi pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman who gave a tough time to the Indian batsmen during the series is shown holding a cutter (symbolizing his off-cutters bowled in the matches).
The text in the photo-shopped advertisement tries to give out a message that just like Rahman’s off-cutters were effective in getting the batsman out, the cuter endorsed by the stationery company would also be effective for daily use.
This is not the first time that such a shameful and derogatory campaign has been aimed at the Indian cricket team. After Bangladesh registered the series win, some unruly fans beat up one of the most well-known faces in the cricket stadium, a die-hard fan of Sachin Tendulkar and Indian cricket team, Sudhir. Sudhir was later saved by police officials present at the spot.
