Delhi deputy chief minister, Manish Sisodia, on Tuesday said that Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will become Punjab’s chief minister.
Addressing a rally in Punjab’s Mohali, Sisodia said, “This brother was just asking me who will become Punjab’s chief minister (should Aam Aadmi Party win the election). Let me tell you one thing. You must vote thinking Arvind Kejriwal will become Punjab’s chief minister.”
He added, “Ye samajh ke vote do ki aap Arvind Kejriwal ko vote de rahe ho. Aapka vote Kejriwal ke naam pe hai.”
Later, speaking to media, Sisodia defended his comments adding that new chief minister will be elected by MLAs.
He said, ‘Let the time come. All I can tell you is that the new chief minister of Punjab will be an aam aadmi.”
Reacting to his statement, Punjab’s deputy chief minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal, said, “By asking people to vote for @ArvindKejriwal as CM of Pb, Manish Sisodia has exposed their plan. AAP has proven it does not trust Punjabis. Sisodia’s announcement proves that @SChotepur was thrown out to pave the way for @ArvindKejriwal. (sic)”

Punjab goes to polls on 4 February with ruling Akal Dal and BJP fighting to retain the government. Both Congress and AAP are in the fray to form the government.
Kejriwal had won a historic mandate in Delhi in February 2015 on a slogan ‘paanch saal kejriwal.’
