The brief encounter, according to PTI, took place before Shah was to address a convention of ‘Pramod Mahajan Skill and Entrepreneurship Mission’, a state government initiative along the lines of the Centre’s ‘Skill India’, at an auditorium. However, the delegation did not attend the function and left immediately.

Deka later posted the photos including a selfie on his Facebook page.

Kanhaiya in April had alleged that a person, identified as Manas Deka , had attacked him. Kanhaiya’s attacker was later detained by the police at Mumbai airport after he tried to strangulate JNUSU president inside a flight.

There were plenty of confusion over the real identity of Deka as the same was also  described as the saffron party’s office bearer. On the BJP’s website, one Manas Deka stated as a coordinator for the party.

Though the party later clarified that the attacker and its office-bearer were two different individuals.

Jet Airways had come under severe criticism after it chose to off-load Kanhaiya even though he was a victim of an allegedly serious attack.

Deven Bharti, Joint Commissioner of Mumbai Police told reporters that the there was no truth in Kanhaiya’s complaint.

“Whatever has been alleged by his (Kanhaiya Kumar) friend, in our inquiry we’ve found it not to be true,” Bharti was quoted by Indian Express.
