JSPL aims to vaccinate all its 28,000 employees, says CHRO Pankaj Lochan

Jindal Steel and Power Limited, also known as the JSPL, has said that it was in the process of vaccinating all its 28000 employees. JSPL’s CHRO Pankaj Lochan said that 8,400 employees had already been inoculated with the first dose.

“JSPL has tied up with various state governments for vaccination of its employees. There is a sufficient supply of vaccines by the respective state governments and even after 01st May, there will be no supply constraint,” Lochan said.

The central government has allowed the vaccination of people in the age group of 18-45 from 1 May. Earlier, people below 45 years of age could not qualify for the vaccination.

Lochan said that ‘apart from vaccination, the JSPL has also put in place strict control measures across its offices and plants and re-worked its SOPs in view of physical-distancing requirements, and proper work space hygiene with covid appropriate protocols.’ He said, “Daily testing of about 400-500 persons is being carried out (including daily testing/repeat testing). The JSPL has also put together a total of 700-bed medical facilities across its plant/office locations for handling its internal covid cases in the future.”

The JSPL has earned plaudits from all and sundry for its decision to supply more than 100 MT of liquid oxygen on a daily basis to hospitals in several states

These hospitals have also included those suffering from acute oxygen shortages in Delhi. Tens of thousands of people have died in and around Delhi with most falling victim to the deadly virus for the want of access to liquid oxygen.
