The ruling Janata Dal United and Rashtriya Janata Dal Wednesday announced the seats sharing arrangements for upcoming Bihar elections.
Speaking to media, the state’s chief minister Nitish Kumar said that both JDU and RJD will contest on 100 seats each while Congress will be fielding candidates in remaining 40 constituencies.
Nitish was also joined by the RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav at this press conference.
Both leaders used this opportunity to launch renewed attack against the rival BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Lalu said, ” 50 people have died in Vyapam scam, the CBI is investigating Vyapam (in BJP ruled Madhya Pradesh), but country’s prime minister comes to Gaya and gives clean chit to MP’s CM. Bihar’s voters understand all that will give BJP fitting reply in the coming election. Ham Bhajapa ko dhool chatayenge and bhajapa ko khaali haath wapas bhejenge. (We will make BJP bite dust and BJP will be sent back from Bihar empty-handed).”
Nitish, for his part, once again reminded how Modi had insulted Bihari people by questioning his DNA
He said, “People who insult Biharis will have to answer. It’s extraordinary the kind of insulting adjectives Prime Minister Modi has been using for Biharis. He questioned our DNA, called our state bimaru(sick) and abhagaa(unfortunate). BJP will have a lot to answer.”
Nitish also announced that the grand alliance will hold a huge ‘Swabhiman Rally’ in Patna on August 30, when even ‘top Congress leadership’ will also share stage with them.
Bihar goes to poll later this year and the results will have huge consequences on the political future of both Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi.
