In a sensational development, a video of late AIADMK leader J Jayalalithaa being treated in Apollo Hospital has surfaced on social media. Just a day before the crucial RK Nagar assembly by-polls.
Apollo Hospital sources said that the video was not shot by it and a private individual may have filmed the late AIADMK leader while she was under the treatment. Meanwhile, the Election Commission has refused to intervene in the matter saying the video doesn’t solicit votes or ask people to vote for any party.
Jayalalithaa’s death had caused a serious division in her party leading to a split with her former aide V Sasikala getting herself elected as the new general secretary of the AIADMK. She was later found guilty in a disproportionate assets case and sent to jail in Bengaluru.
Sasikala’s detractors within the party had accused her of foul play behind Jayalalithaa’s death.
However, Sasikala’s nephew TTV Dinakaran has claimed that Sasikala had the video of former Tamil Nadu chief minister when she was admitted in hospital and will give the video to the probe committee.
“Sasikala has video of Jayalalithaa when she was admitted in hospital. We will give the video to the probe committee,” Dinakaran was quoted by ANI.
RK Nagar seat had fallen vacant after the death of Jayalalithaa last year.
