It’s Republic Day for Haryana CM, while Punjab minister Majithia unfurls national flag upside down

Haryana CM, Manohar Lal Khattar, on Saturday wished everyone for ‘Republic Day’ celebrations.

Speaking to reporters in Kurushetra, he said, “I extend my heartiest greetings on India’s 69 Republic Day.”

He, however, corrected himself later used Independence Day in the subsequent conversation.

Elsewhere, in the neighboring Punjab, the state’s revenue minister, Bikram Majithia began his speech after hoisting the national flag upside down.

The minister was the chief guest in Amritsar’s Guru Nanak Dev Stadium, for Saturday’s Independence Day function. Majithia, after hoisting the tricolour, took guard of honour.

Those present at the function said that Majithia was oblivious to his mistakes and never realised the blunder he had committed.

The district administration, which was organising this event, later realised this mistake and didn’t waste time in correcting the mistakes by lowering the flag before unfurling it again.
