Remember Manushi Chhillar, the 21-year-old Haryana medicial student from Sonipat in Haryana, who stunned the world by winning the coveted title of Miss World in China last year? Well six months into her journey as the most beautiful woman on earth, Manushi is now all set to be one of the judges of the same event, where she was crowned Miss India (World) last year.
On Tuesday, Manushi will be choosing her successor along with Irrfan Pathan, K.L. Rahul, Kunal Kapoor and Malaika Arora. She’s already arrived in Mumbai to do the judge’s duty. While in Mumbai, Manushi informed her fan on Instagram last weekend, “Interview ready! This time on the other side of the table.”
The reigning Miss World was asked about her plans for a Bollywood debut since almost all previous Indian winners of Miss Universe and Miss World such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sushmita Sen, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Diana Hayden have gone on to become actors in the Hindi film industry.
“I still have six months to go as Miss World. I haven’t completed my college and I am also learning something everyday. This industry was something I have never seen and I don’t know anything about it. I was not even a person who watched a lot of movies. So for me, it has been a learning experience,” she was quoted by IANS.
The 21-year-old girl from Sonipat added, “I do enjoy being in front of the camera and that is something new I have discovered. With all these changes that are happening in my life, I try to take things as they come. When such a situation (Bollywood offers) will come when I have to make a choice, I will know a definite answer.”
This year’s Miss India finale will be held in a glittering ceremony in Mumbai with Karan Johar and Ayushmann Khurrana hosting the event.
Earlier in March, she had faced nasty trolling after she posted a photo from her latest shoot for a magazine cover. Dressed in a blush pink corset from Laperla, Manushi received a lot of appreciation from her fans. But, the Miss World also came under criticism from many other users, who accused her of fake beauty by alleging that the magazine cover photo was edited.
One user Twinkle Chopra had asked, “Omg Look at your face @manushi_chhillar why soo much of editing!? (sic)” Another user Akshay used expletives to accuse her of possessing fake beauty. He wrote, “… You are simply just enjoying and posting such shameless pics.”
Manushi Chhillar won the coveted title of the Miss World competition in China last year. Hailing from Haryana, Manushi has been on a global tour since winning the Miss World title. From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to President Ram Nath Kovind, everyone had her hailed on her achievement.
