Is Jet Airways giving away two free tickets?

Jet Airways giving away two free tickets to mark its 25th anniversary has been doing the rounds on social media including WhatsApp platforms for quite some time. However, the airline has now responded to the viral message terming the message fake.

Taking to Twitter, the airline wrote, “#FakeAlert There’s a fake link being circulated regarding ticket giveaways for our 25th Anniversary. This is not an official contest/giveaway and we advise caution. Genuine contests & giveaways are hosted only on our verified social media accounts, indicated with a blue tick.”

After Jet Airways published its official statement out, many individuals came forward confessing that they too had received the message. One user wrote, “Usually I don’t have the habit of responding to such messages, but I did to this because I received the message from a reliable friend. While trying I could know that it was fake. The company should find out the person or persons behind it.” Another user said, “Hi, I have also received this msg on WhatsApp and I knew it was fake. I usually check the web address of the redirected link. In this case the web address is . How come? Am I missing something?”

In response to these comments, the airline requested the individuals to share its official statement reiterating that there was no such reward scheme to mark the airline’s 25th anniversary.

The viral message had read, ““Jetairways Airline is giving 2 Free Tickets to everyone, to celebrate their 25th Anniversary, Click here to Get yours: http://www.jetaý (sic).”

However, upon clicking the link, a user was taken to what appeared to be a phishing website.
