Pakistani troops have once again violated ceasefire by resorting to night-long firing and mortar shelling targeting six Border Out Posts (BoPS) along the Indo-Pak border in Jammu district ending Monday morning.
“Pakistani Rangers resorted to firing and mortar shelling targeting six BoPs along the International Border (IB) in Arnia sector of Jammu district throughout the night”, a Border Security Force officer said.
Small arms and 82mm mortal shells targeting the sector sent waves of panic among villagers living along the borderline, said the officer.
BSF troops retaliated and the gunfire exchanges stopped at around 5 am today, after which there was no firing. There was no loss of life or damage to property reported.
There have been three ceasefire violations by Pakistan during the last 12 hours along the International border in Jammu.
