Union Labor and Employment Minister, Santosh Gangwar, has made a controversial statement on the rising incidents of rapes in the country. The minister said that people shouldn’t make an issue out of one or two rape incidents in such a big country. He said that such incidents can not be stopped.
Gangwar said, “It is unfortunate that these incidents happen, but sometimes they cannot be prevented. The Government is alert in all states and action is being taken. In a country as big as India, people shouldn’t make an issue out of one or two rape incidents.”

There has been a lot of protest in the whole country regarding the Unnao and Kathua rape cases. The The gangrape-murder of the 8-year-old minor child in Kathua district shook the whole country. People are demanding a stringent punishment for the accused.
In the Kathua case, an eight-year-old girl was held hostage, raped repeatedly inside a temple and later murdered.
Apart from this, in Unnao, a girl was gang-raped where a BJP MLA from Unnao Kuldeep Singh Sengar and his colleagues were accused. The victim’s father was tortured to death in police custody. The accused, Kuldeep Sengar, is currently in CBI custody.
