Journalists too weren’t far behind and a group of newsroom staff working for Hindustan Times newspaper decided to come up with an innovative way to wish the Khiladi Kumar.
A short video posted by journalist Jairaj Singh shows a group of Hindustan Times journalists dancing to medley of popular dance tracks from Akshay’s hit films in a nicely choreographed performance. In the video, a journalist is seen wearing Akshay’s mask while he’s joined by his female colleagues, who play the characters of lead ladies from the actor’s famous films, one after the other. The performance ends with HT staff wishing Akshay on his 50th birthday.

The video instantly triggered an online debate if journalists ought to have indulged in such acts.
Journalist Neha Dixit wrote, “There are so many expectations from reporters these days. All in the name of ‘online content.'”

Dixit wasn’t alone in her criticism. There were many others who found the video ‘ridiculous.’
