This was after violence erupted at the Singhu border on Friday as mob claiming to be ‘locals’ pelted stones and vandalised tents belonging to protesting farmers in the protection of cops. The Delhi Police said that one of its SHOs was injured in a sword attack.
According to local journalists, while there was a ban on public’s entry to the protest site and even water tankers were not allowed, the violent mob was allowed to go on a rampage in the police protection.
Tens of thousands of farmers have been protesting at different bordering close to India’s national capital demanding the withdrawal of the three Farm Laws that they say have been enacted to help Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s businessman friends.
