Delhi’s deputy chief minister, Manish Sisodia, on Wednesday said that his government was ready to cooperate with the central government’s probe in so-called onion scam.

Talking to reporters at the secretariat, Sisodia said,” we have heard about the news that ACB, which is now controlled by Modiji and whose head Meenaji claims to receive orders directly from the PMO, has started a probe in the so-called onion scam. We welcome that and any instances of corruptions must be probed.”

Sisodia said that his government will send all files related to onion purchase to the prime minister adding that the PM Modi shouod also ‘reciprocate by telling his LG (Najeeb Jung) to do the same.’

“Our concerned minister is ready to answer any questions ACB will have regarding the purchase of onions. Modiji should tell LG sahab to do the same and answer all questions aam janta may have about his role in CNG Fitness Scam. LG sahab has been going to court against the CNG Fitness inquiry. Other day he instructed that the inquiry commission’s salary be stopped. Modiji should tell him not to do so,” said Sisodia.

A news channel earlier this week had claimed that Delhi government bought onions at a cheaper price before selling them at inflated rates to consumers.

However, documents accessed by www.jantakareporter.com and other media revealed that it was the central government agency, SFAC, which had procured onions at Rs 18 per kg before selling them to Delhi government at Rs 32.86 per kg.

Delhi government, which had to incur costs on transport and distribution then subsidised the price to sell them to common public at Rs 30 per kg.
