Customs officials at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) in Mumbai reportedly seized 8 kg gold worth Rs 1.99 crore from the toilets of a Jet Airways flight early Saturday morning.
After seizing the gold from the Jet airways 9W-539 Muscat Mumbai, a passenger Segu Naina Mohamed Shektheen Sha was inquired who confessed to hiding the gold inside the toilets. and was subsequently arrested.
An official from the Air Intelligence Unit told a news agency, “We had information and also intercepted passenger Segu Naina Mohamed Shektheen Sha. He admitted concealment inside the toilet and said that the gold was to be retrieved during the domestic leg of the flight, when it would fly to Kolkata.”

On Wednesday, the Air Intelligence Unit of Mumbai Customs claimed to have seized 6.2 kgs of gold, valued at Rs 1.54 crore, in five separate cases in the city.
