A 23-year-old woman was allegedly raped by two men in Palwal district of Faridabad, police said today.
The incident is alleged to have taken place on June 3 when
the woman was called by Rubina to her place for some work in Roopnagar Natauli village where the latter’s brother and one other man were already present, a police official said.
She was then raped by the two men and also threatened of dire consequences if she informed anyone about the incident, the official said.
The woman later came home and narrated her ordeal to the family members who informed the police.
A case has been registered against three persons and the woman has been sent for a medical examination. A hunt is also on to nab the accused, police said.
Haryana under Manohar Lal Khattar’s government has seen a phenomenal rise in sexual atatcks against women. Not long ago, a Dalit woman was brutally gangraped before her body being mutilated by her perpetrators in Sonipat.
“There were injuries on the private parts, which means that woman was sexually assaulted,” the doctor had said.
More recently, a woman was gangraped in a moving auto after the rapists threw her 9-month-old child on the road to die. The victim had later travelled from Gurgaon to Delhi carrying her dead child.
Last month, just days after the Sonipat incident, a 22-year-old woman from Sikkim was allegedly raped by three men in a moving car here and thrown out on a road in Delhi in yet another chilling rape incident in Haryana days after the Nirbhaya-like case in Sonipat.
