Former Navy Chief Admiral Sushil Kumar passes away, PM condoles death


Former Navy Chief Admiral Sushil Kumar died on Wednesday morning. He passed away at the Army Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi due to prolonged illness. He was 79.

Admiral Kumar held the Navl chief’s post from 1998 to 2000.

Reacting to the news of his death, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “Admiral Sushil Kumar will be remembered for his great service to the nation. He contributed to the strengthening of our maritime security. Anguished by his demise. May his soul rest in peace.”

Admiral Kumar was the author of a book A Prime Minister to Remember – Memories of Military Chief.
