Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy took an extraordinary step by publicly advising his Jharkhand counterpart, Hemant Soren, to strengthen the ‘hands of’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This was after Soren trended on Twitter for his decision to tweet about PM Modi’s phone call, which he described as a one-way conversation.
Reacting to Soren’s tweet, Reddy wrote, “Dear @HemantSorenJMM, I have great respect for you, but as a brother I would urge you, no matter what ever our differences are, indulging in such level of politics would only weaken our own nation.”
He wrote in his subsequent tweet, “In this war against Covid-19, these are the times not to point fingers but to come together and strengthen the hands of our Prime Minister to effectively combat the pandemic.”
Dear @HemantSorenJMM,
I have great respect for you, but as a brother I would urge you, no matter what ever our differences are, indulging in such level of politics would only weaken our own nation. (1/2) https://t.co/0HZr56nOj2— YS Jagan Mohan Reddy (@ysjagan) May 7, 2021
Reddy’s extraordinary step to publicly disapprove Soren’s tweet against PM Modi did not go down well netizens, who linked the Andhra chief minister’s advise to the ongoing case against him in a CBI court.
Really sad to learn son of such a tall leader from Congress Late Shri Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy ji is now playing doodle-doodle with Modi for petty politics fearing CB, ED raids. Grow up @ysjagan, you are a CM now ???? https://t.co/NflA4xjPTd

Jagan Reddy, you may have fear of Modi because of CBI cases on you(31 cases, 43 crores illegal money 16 months in jail and living on bail) and lick his feets everyday to come out of cases. But Hemanth Soren sir is genuine and he fights for his state with anyone without a fear.

Incredibly posh coming from a man who broke all protocol & made frivolous public allegations about an incoming Chief Justice of India.
What “level of politics” was that eh? https://t.co/VE6Iy4tAfr

Backdrop of today’s appeasement
Hearing on #Jagan reddy’s bail cancellation petition is posted to May 17th by CBI court
CBI and Jagan asked the Court to provide more time to submit the counters. CBI court then adjourned the case to May 17th #jaganMohanReddy #AndhraPradesh

Reddy’s public posturing in defence of Modi came on a day a CBI court decided to adjourn its hearing into a case seeking cancellation of his bail in connection with alleged irregularities in a land allotment case dating back when his father late YS Rajasekhara Reddy was the chief minister to 17 May.
Soren on Thursday night had launched a stunning attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his phone call to him which he described as a one-way conversation. Soren said that Modi did not care to listen to the former’s point of view on the pandemic. The stunning social media post by the Jharkhand CM had made him a top trend on Twitter, evoking angry reactions as Times Now’s Navika Kumar and News18 India’s Amish Devgan, often mocked as poor man’s Arnab Goswami, came to PM Modi’s rescue.
