In what would come as a huge breather, Mumbai has recorded an extraordinary dip in positive cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The financial capital of India recorded just 2,662 cases in the last 24 hours.
The Mumbai civic body, the BMC, took to Twitter to write, “3rd May, 6:00pm. Positive Pts. (24 hrs) – 2,662. Discharged Pts. (24 hrs) – 5,746, Total Recovered Pts. – 5,89,619, Overall Recovery Rate – 89%, Total Active Pts. – 54,143, Doubling Rate – 111 Days, Growth Rate (26 Apr-2 May) – 0.61%.”

The city reported 78 COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours. Mumbai has been reporting a considerable decline in coronavirus cases in the last few days. The development may come as a huge relief to everyone in Maharashtra, which had become one of the worst-hit Indian states by the latest wave of the pandemic.
One hopes that a similar trend is reported from elsewhere in India too.
