England on Saturday crushed Australia by eight wickets in their T20 World Cup match, being played in Dubai. In another match, South Africa defeated Sri Lanka by four wickets.

Batting first, Australia were all out for 125 runs as they found it difficult to play English bowlers. Aaron Finch was the top scorer with 44 runs.

Chris Jordan took three wickets by conceding just 17 runs in four overs. Chris Woakes picked up two wickets by giving away just 23 runs in four overs. Woakes was also involved in Steve Smith’s dismissal by taking a stunning catch.

Tymal Mill took two wickets, while Adil Rashid and Liam Livingstone shared one wicket each.

England didn’t face much trouble in their run chase as they achieved the target by losing just one wicket and 8.2 overs to spare. The hero of England’s run chase was Jos Buttler, who remained unbeaten at 71 that he took just 32 balls to score.

England had earlier inflicted a humiliating defeat on West Indies by bowling them out for just 55. Adil Rashid had bowled one of the most impressive overs in the history of the T20 World Cup.

In an earlier match, South Africa pulled off a sensational win against Sri Lanka even though it looked near impossible for them to win even after the 18th over.

Batting first, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 142 in 20 overs with Pathum Nissanka emerging as the top scorer. Nissanka made 72 in 56 balls with his knock including six fours and three sixes.

South Africa too kept losing wickets at a regular interval after they started their run chase. They needed 25 runs in the last two overs from two unrecognised batsmen namely David Miller and Kagiso Rabada. However, both Miller and Rabada stunned Sri Lankan fans by hitting a series of sixes to secure a thrilling win for South Africa.
