49-year-old man dies standing in bank queue, family moves Supreme Court

49-year-old man has reportedly died in bank queue in Delhi prompting his family to move Supreme Court demanding 50 lakh from government as compensation, reported NDTV.

A report by Hindustan Times said that Satish Sharma was a resident of Uttam Nagar in west Delhi. He had gone to an Oriental Bank of Commerce branch with his friend to deposit money. Sharma collapsed and fainted while both of them were standing in the queue.

Although the cops arrived with a van and rushed Sharma to Mata Chanan Devi hospital, he was declared brought dead, an official said.

As many as 60 people have died due demonetisation related stress since Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced banning of old Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes.
