The Delhi Police on Saturday arrested a tuition teacher, who killed his wife and three children aged two months, five years and seven years. The man has been identified as Upendra Shukla, who lived in Delhi’s Mehrauli area.
Quoting DCP South Delhi, news agency ANI reported that Shukla had confessed to murdering his wife and three children in a written note. The reason for this gruesome murder is not yet known.
According to cops, Shukla murdered his wife and three children by slitting their throats. He allegedly strangled his two-month-old baby to death. The police have recovered the knife used for committing the crime.
“The accused has been arrested. He is said to be under depression, but only medical reports will clear the situation,” Vijay Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Delhi, was quoted by news agency IANS.
The murder came to light after Shukla’s mother, who lives in the same house, knocked on the door. She called the neighbours after there was no response from anyone inside despite her repeated attempts to open the door. When the neighbours broke the door, they saw three bodies lying in a pool of blood.
