Delhi Police chief Bassi’s twitter spat with Kejriwal and fake NDTV anchor

Delhi police commissioner BS Bassi appears to have committed another gaffe by mistaking a parody account as that of the real person on twitter while engaging in a twitter spat with his bete noire, Delhi chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal.

On Friday, Kejriwal, shared a tweet posted from a parody twitter account @raviisndtv.

The tweet, with an aim to troll the Delhi top cop, said , “Bassi jab kehte hain ki unki commitment khaaki ke prati hai, to samajh nahi aata woh vardi ki baat kar rahe hain yaa nikkar ki. ( When Bassi talks about khaki, it’s hard to distinguish if he’s talking about police uniform or shorts worn by RSS workers.)”

Soon after Kejriwal, who has close to 70 lakh followers on twitter, shared it from his account, the tweet went viral eliciting a reaction from Bassi.

The top cop replied clarifying that he was committed to ‘constitution, nation and truth’ adding that ‘self-styled appraisers may better introspect,’

However, Bassi, while replying, used the twitter handle of NDTV anchor, Ravish Kumar, who had recently warned people about this parody account on his blog page.

Bassi had found himself embroiled in a raging controversy after Delhi Police tweeted message posted by a parody account of LeT chief Hafiz Saeed.

This then, reportedly prompted his boss, Home Minister Rajnath Singh to inform national media that the JNU protesters had support from the JuD chief.

We don’t know the reason why Bassi chose to tag Ravish when the message he was replying to wasn’t posted by the NDTV anchor.

We shall wait for him to clarify!
