Manoj Tiwari, the BJP’s Delhi unit president, has offered to donate Rs 1 lakh to his rival Aam Aadmi Party if the Delhi government cleared the proposal for the 4th phase of Delhi Metro.
Taking to Twitter, the singer-politician took to Twitter to write, “(Delhi Chief Minister) Arvind Kejriwal ji, I’m pleading to you with folded hands. Brother, people have chosen you. Don’t punish them. Please approve the proposal for 4th phase or else a lot of problems will be created. Delhi gave you 67 out of 70 seats. The chief minister of that place is saying that we will not give you Phase 4 of Metro? You want donations? Clear the Delhi Metro Phase 4 and I will give you Rs 111,100 from the money I have earned from singing.”
Tiwari was reacting to AAP’s donation drive for the party. Kejriwal had recently kick-started the donation drive for his party claiming that AAP had become kangaal (bankrupt). Speaking at Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium this week, Kejriwal had said that while the government was cash-rich, his party was bankrupt.
“It is for the first time in history that a party is kangaal (bankrupt) and the government is cash-rich. That is because we run on your funds. We do not depend on money from corrupt millionaires,” he was quoted by Hindustan Times.
A report by the Congress-owned National Herald said that AAP had also sent an email to BJP’s Delhi unit requesting donation for the party. The email received by the BJP was similar to what AAP supporters and donors have received as part of the party’s ‘big monthly donation campaign’ to raise money, added the website.
