Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has offered a government job to the sister of Aajtak journalist, who died in mysterious circumstances in Madhya Pradesh while covering Vyapam scam recently, reports the news agency IANS.
The Delhi CM made this offer to Akshya’s family when he along with his deputy Manish Sisodia visited them at their house on Wednesday.
The family revealed that Kejriwal had promised to take care of them financially as well.
“The chief minister has also promised all financial help to us,” a family member was quoted as saying.
Sisodia confirmed this by saying, ” We offered to help the family financially as well.”
Akshay, an undercover journalist with India Today group, had died last week while on an assignment related to Vyapam scam. He was found dead soon after interviewing parents of a girl who had been found dead near railway tracks after her name figured in the infamous Vyapam scam of Madhya Pradesh. The incident took place in Meghnagar near Jhabua town.
Akshay on Friday had called on the parents of Namrata Damor, whose body had been found under mysterious circumstances near railway tracks in Ujjain district.
The Vyapam scam is a huge admission and recruitment scandal involving politicians, bureaucrats and middlemen. Several politicians, including former state Education Minister Laxmikant Sharma, a host of officials and aspirants have been arrested in the case.
