Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) chief Mukesh Kumar Meena has been transferred to Mizoram with immediate effect, the Home Ministry said on Friday, reported news agency IANS.
A 1989 batch IPS officer, Meena had headed the ACB as a Special Commissioner of Police. He was appointed to head the ACB in June 2015 by replacing Additional Commissioner SS Yadav, who was hand-picked by the Arvind Kejriwal led AAP government in Delhi.
Meena hat shot to fame because of his tussle with the Delhi’s Aam Aadmi Party government on a number of cases. Meena’s appointment as the ACB chief was never welcomed by Kejriwal government.
AAP leader Kumar Vishwas had alleged that the there was no coincidence that Meena became the ACB chief after the then Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Najeeb Jung’s name was being cinluded in the CNG scam.
