In his social media post, the cricketer said, “Hi I’m Mohammad Shami. Ye jitna bhi news hamara personal life ke bare may chal raha hai, ye sab sarasar jhut hai, ye koi bahut bada humare khilap sajish hai or ye mujhe Badnam karne or mera game kharab karne ka kosis ki ja rahi hai. (The news about my personal life is false. This a big conspiracy against me and the motive is to defame me. This is a ploy to spoil my performance on the field.”

His clarification came after his wife Hasin Jahan shared the photos of her husband with several girls including his alleged WhatsApp conversations. A report by ABP (watch below) quoted Jahan as saying that she was being tortured and assaulted by Shami and his family members. She also claimed that Shami and his family members were torturing her for a period of more than two years with attempts of trying to kill her.

Jahan said that Shami’s ‘dirty acts’ were worse than what she posted on Facebook. She said, “Shami beat me up after returning from South Africa. He’s threatened me and put me through regular torture so that I leave the house.”

Jahan hails from Kolkata, while Shami is from Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad district. He’s often been trolled for posting photos with his wife. They have a two-year-old daughter.

Meanwhile, Hasin Jahan’s Facebook page, where she had posted photos and screenshots of WhatsApp chats, has now been deleted. It’s not clear whether the social media giant took the action after receiving complaints from Shami or Jahan decided to deactivate the account on her own.
