Congress leader Vikas Chaudhary was shot dead in Faridabad near the Delhi border on Thursday morning as he parked his car outside a gym, which he visited for a daily workout. The fatal attack on Chaudhary took place in Faridabad’s Sector 9.
The Congress has demanded immediate action against his killer. The party wrote on Twitter, “We are deeply angered & saddened by this act of grotesque violence against a member of the Congress Party. We urge the Haryana govt. to bring the perpetrators to justice at the earliest. Our sincere condolences to his family in this time of grief.”

Chaudhary’s assassination was captured on a CCTV camera, which showed at least two men approach his SUV from both sides before they started firing at him indiscriminately. While one fired at him through the windshield, the other hit him from the driver’s window. His killers are then seen fleeing in a car, which was parked on the road nearby.
He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. “Doctors tried their best to save him… Our entire team was there but he had been shot too many times… We could not save him,” Dr. Saurabh at the hospital was quoted by Hindustan Times.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was quoted by news agency ANI as saying, “It is not in my knowledge right now.”
Haryana goes to polls later this year.
