Congress’ Jairam Ramesh levels corruption charges against father-son duo of Dhumal-Thakur in Himachal Pradesh

After taking potshots at Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and her son Dushyant Chauhan over them allegedly taking charge of properties illegally, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has now made the same accusations in the case of former Himachal Pradesh CM Prem Kumar Dhumal and his BCCI secretary son Anurag Thakur.

Ramesh alleges that the son-father duo in Himachal Pradesh have illegally taken charge of 16 acres of land which was gifted to the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association by the government in national interest.

“16 acre ka zameen Dharamshala mein Himachal Pradesh Cricket association ko diya jata hai ek stadium banane ke liye. 16 acre zameen Dharamshala mein jo HP Cricket Association ko diya gaya tha, usse HP sarkaar ko har saal 94 lakh milna tha (16 acres of land was gifted to HPCA for building of a stadium and the government was to earn 94 lakhs every year from that land).” Ramesh told ANI.

Ramesh also alleged that in the name of cricket, both Dhumal and his son had made improper use of their state government and made a lot of illegal money.

“They have taken charge of public land illegally. This is a major case of conflict of interest. They have made improper use of their mandate since 2002,” the Congress leader alleged.

However, Thakur later came out and told reporters that the Congress party was expert in imposing baseless and completely false allegations on BJP leaders. He also said that the land had only been given to an organisation for cricket and not for his personal gain.

Earlier last month, Ramesh had alleged that Rajasthan CM Raje and tainted former IPL commisssioner Lalit Modi were ‘business partners’ and that the CM and her son Dushyant had illegally captured land at the state’s Dholpur Palace.

The Congress party had then once again demanded Raje’s resignation.

Parliament is also currently in a logjam over the Lalit Modi issue with Congress stalling proceedings over demand for resignation of three top BJP leaders including Raje. This also includes Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, whose government is embroiled in the deadly Vyapam scam which is claimed to have claimed over 47 lives mysteriously.
