Condolences pour in on sudden death of CNN-News18 managing editor Radhakrishnan Nair

Condolences have poured in on social media after Radhakrishnan Nair, the managing editor of CNN-News18 died on Tuesday morning. 54-year-old journalist was reportedly battling post surgery complications after having undergone kidney transplant a few months ago. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Nair was on ventilator support for few weeks and passed away due to multi-organ failure on Tuesday morning.

Politicians and journalists have begun paying their tributes to Nair. Rajdeep Sardesai, who worked as his boss in CNN-News18, wrote, “One of the finest human beings I have had the privilege to work with, our managing editor when I was at CNN IBN, Radhakrishnan Nair passed away this morning. Please do keep him and his family in your prayers. RIP Radha my friend.. will miss you.”

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley tweeted, “Saddened by the demise of Shri Radhakrishnan Nair, an outstanding journalist and a pleasant human being. May God render peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family. Om Shanti.”

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s tweet read, “Shocked to hear about the sudden demise of senior journalist Radhakrishnan Nair. May God give courage to his family to bear this irreparable loss. RIP”

Senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said, “Shocked and saddened by the demise of Radhakrishnan Nair, outstanding journalist and man of integrity. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and the media fraternity.”

Nair had started his journalism career in Kerala while working with news agency UNI before he moved to Delhi. He had joined TV18 group in 1995.
