Delhi’s Tina Dabi tops civil services exam; J-K’s Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan gets second rank

UPSC has declared Final Result of Civil Services Examination 2015.

Delhi’s Tina Dabi topped civil services exam, while Jammu and Kashmir’s Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan got second rank. Athar is an IIT passout.

Dabi has cleared her IAS exams in the first attempt.

Jasmeet Singh Sandhu, who is also from Delhi, has secured the third position. 

Speaking to ANI, Dabi said, “I chose Indian Administrative Service and Haryana cadre as I found it very challenging.”

Delhi chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal tweeted congratulating Dabi.

23-year-old Khan hails from Devipora village in Mattan area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

He is the youngest boy from Kashmir to crack the prestigious examination.

This is the second time that Khan has secured a place in the list.
In 2015, he was one of the seven Kashmiris selected in the service.

Khan was quoted by NDTV as saying, “I will not leave any stone unturned to work for the betterment of people. I think there is a lot of scope to fulfill the aspirations of the people from my state.”

Jasmeet, whose father works in Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) here, thanked his parents and teachers for his success.

“It is all because of my family, friends and Mukul Pathak sir (who runs a coaching class) that I could secure third rank in the exam,” he told ABP News.

Jasmeet was also selected in 2014 civil services exam and had got Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Central Excise).

He is undergoing training at National Academy of Customs, Excise and Narcotics in Faridabad. This was his fourth attempt.

The UPSC has has recommended 1078 candidates for appointment this year.
