Patna High Court judge says the outgoing Chief Justice was ‘corrupt’ and had ‘caste consideration’

In an extraordinary development, a sitting judge of Patna High Court has written a damning letter about his outgoing boss, Chief Justice L Narasimha Reddy.

In his letter, Justice Dharnidhar Jha called the Chief Justice, who retired last week a dictator, whose style of functioning was reminiscent of a “Moghal Baadshah.”

Indian Express quoted him as saying, ” Until I was there, he never uttered a single word to question my decisions, all of which were taken in full court meetings. And now he has written some letter that I have not seen. This is gross misconduct as he is levelling baseless allegations.”

Justice Jha also announced that he will not be attending the farewell party organised by the bar council. He said that the former Chief asked top legal officers to work out of what were, till recently, bathrooms.

“His behaviour was never like a Judge rather he behaved like a politician,” says Justice Jha, adding that, “he threw policies and decisions of the Supreme Court to the wind.”

In his four-page letter, the judge also claimed that Chief Justice Reddy had once sanctioned vendor contracts  for a celebration without involving anyone else “and no one knows what was the rate of payment which was approved.”
