Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has reportedly resigned from his post. Rupani visited the Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar on Saturday to submit his resignation.
He’s likely to address the media after his meeting with the Governor.

The development assumes significance in light of the growing anger against the BJP government at the Centre. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the chief minister of Gujarat before he won the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
The BJP was forced to change the then chief minister of Gujarat, Anandiben Patel, in 2016 just before the assembly polls as the party feared losing elections because of her unpopularity.
Gujarat goes to the polls early next year.
Before Rupani’s resignation, three more BJP chief ministers including BS Yediyurappa in Karnataka, Tirath Singh Rawat and Trivendra Rawat in Uttarakhand were forced to resign from their posts by the BJP leadership.
