BJP suspends Rajasthan MLA Shobharani Kushwaha for cross-voting in favour of Congress in Rajya Sabha polls

The BJP has suspended its MLA, Shobharani Kushwaha, for cross-voting in favour of Congress candidate Pramod Tiwari in today’s Rajya Sabha polls. The news of Kushwaha being suspended was flashed by PTI.

The BJP was assured for one seat but it was also backing media baron Subhash Chandra hoping for some cross-votings from rebel Congress MLAs.

However, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot took the matter in his hand and made sure that his flock remained united. Instead, he managed to create fissures in the BJP rank by triggering cross-voting in favour of the Congress candidate.

Reacting to the defeat of Chandra, the Rajasthan CM had issued a warning to the BJP for the 2023 assembly polls.
