Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was attacked with chilli powder outside his office in the Delhi secretariat. The cops have taken the man in question in their custody.

The chief minister had his glasses broken and has been taken to doctors.

The attack reportedly took place at 2.30 pm on Tuesday. The reason for the attack is not known yet. The attacker has been identified as Anil Sharma.

AAP leader Raghav Chadha said that he was standing right behind Kejriwal when the attack took place. He tweeted, “Was right behind CM @ArvindKejriwal at the Secretariat when he was suddenly attacked, on 3rd floor right outside his office. Shocking lapse of security. Is this Delhi Police’s incompetent effort to protect an elected CM?”

Another AAP leader Preeti Sharma Menon tweeted, “Shaken and really angry about the attack on @ArvindKejriwal. He is the biggest threat to the politics of hate and thats why @BJP4India won’t let him live. @DelhiPolice facilitates attackers.”

Earlier today, Kejriwal had met Mahindra Group’s Executive Chairman, Anand Mahindra at his office.
