BJP President Amit Shah on Monday called Congress President Rahul Gandhi for his decision to meet the RJD President and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Launching a blistering attack against Gandhi, Shah told an audience in Karnataka that the same ‘Rahul Gandhi had once torn an ordinance brought out to save Lalu Prasad Yadav.’

He later also posted a clip of his speech on Twitter with the caption that read, “Rahul Gandhi tore off the ordinance brought by Manmohan Singh to save Lalu Yadav when in power but now goes to meet the convicted leader in fodder scam to take his support for 2019 elections. This dual face of Rahul Gandhi is exposed.”

Karnataka goes to polls on 12 May while the counting will take place on 15 May. Gandhi had met Yadav for little over 30 minutes at the AIIMS in Delhi. Yadav was later shifted out of Delhi to Ranchi amidst protests from the RJD supremo and his family members, who alleged conspiracy.

While Yadav and his son Tejshwi alleged conspiracy, the AIIMS issued a statement saying that the veteran politician’s condition had improved significantly. Its statement said, “Lalu Prasad Yadav was referred to AIIMS for management of his acute medical condition. He has improved significantly and is being referred back to Ranchi Medical College for management of his chronic issues.
