A survey by ABP News has predicted a comfortable majority for the Aam Aadmi Pary in Delhi if the polls were to be held today. The survey said that the AAP will secure 41 seats, BJP 25 and Congress four.
The survey also said that 49% people preferred Arvind Kejriwal as Delhi chief minister leaving the BJP’s Dr Harshvardhan way behind at 14%, while Congress’s Ajay Maken was the CM choice for just 9% respondents. However, nearly 50% respondents said that they were unhappy with their MLAs.
In February 2015, Kejriwal’s party had won 67 out of 70 seats in the assembly elections. BJP’s tally was reduced to three while the Congress had failed to win a single seat.
More than 50 percent people of Delhi are not satisfied with the performance of the current civic body representatives, said the survey. This assumes significance given that the BJP had won in all three municipal bodies in the elections held just less than a year ago. Nearly 61 percent people of Delhi said that they were not happy with their Mayor and want to change them.
The survey was conducted to coincide the third anniversary of the AAP government in Delhi.
