Aashna Lidder: Daughter of Brigadier Lakhwinder Singh Lidder, who died in helicopter crash with General Bipin Rawat, forced to quit Twitter after attack from Hindutva bullies

Aashna Lidder, the daughter of Brigadier Lakhwinder Singh Lidder, who died in a helicopter crash with General Bipin Rawat, has been forced to delete her Twitter account after facing grief from Hindutva terrorists. The action of Hindutva terrorists is being widely condemned by politicians from opposition parties in India.

This was after many Hindutva terrorists began to attack the young girl for her old social media posts critical of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. In one tweet, Aashna had slammed Adityanath for mocking Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi after she was seen sweeping the floor in a Sitapur guest house where the UP Police had locked her up to stop her from visiting Lakhimpur Kheri. Gandhi was trying to visit Lakhimpur Kheri to meet families of those farmers, who were killed by a speeding SUV belonging to the son of India’s junior home minister Ajay Mishra Teni.

Reacting to Adityanath’s comments, Aashna had written, “Woke up to watching Yogi Adityanath undermine the opposition. I get it. This is politics. But it is absolutely cheap and not ok to say things like “she’s only capable of sweeping floors.” I mean wow, toothless tiger doesn’t stop roaring, truly. Yogi, clear the turmoil in UP first.”

Many Hindutva terrorists began sharing Aashna’s old tweets to give her grief. Soon, the grieving daughter of an armed forces hero deleted her account. Her decision evoked angry reactions from India’s opposition leaders including Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi and Congress MP Kartik Chidambaram.

“17 year old, grieving yet holding strong, has just cremated her father,a decorated army officer,is being trolled for her views, they want to moderate her woke-ism,military train compulsorily, want her to be corrected. In the process got her to delete her account. How low will you go?” Chaturvedi asked.

Chidambaram tweeted, “Shame on the faux “patriots & nationalists” who have hounded a young educated & thinking girl off @Twitter #Aashnalidder”

Some Twitter users also shared an old video of Aashna to highlight just how fiercely independent, fearless and opinionated she was.

Aashna’s father, Brigadier Lakhwinder Singh Lidder, was among that 13 military personnel, who died in a military helicopter crash along with General Bipin Rawat in Tamil Nadu.

Brig. Lidder worked as General Rawat’s DA (Defence Assistant) and was set to be promoted to the post of Major General in the Indian Army.

This is not the first time Hindutva terrorists have hounded a daughter of an Indian war hero. Earlier, supporters of BJP had targeted Gurmehar Kaur, daughter of India’s Kargil war  hero, for her calls to establish peace with Pakistan.
