An AAP MLA from Punjab has reportedly written to Delhi deputy chief minister, Manish Sisodia, informing him about the sentiments among MLAs and volunteers on the party choice of Rajya Sabha nominations.

Kharar MLA Kanwar Sandhu emailed Sisodia stating that the decision had left party workers and MLAs ‘severely disppointed,’ reported Indian Express.

Sandhu wrote, “Many were highly critical of the nominations of Sushil Gupta and N D Gupta. They felt that these seats should have gone to our own senior leaders, who have been at the forefront. The NRIs are also critical of Sanjay Singh’s nomination, which comes after our failure to win the Punjab Assembly polls under his command in the state.”

He claimed that nearly half a dozen of MLAs were disappointed.

“… I feel that the senior leadership must be apprised of the feelings of MLAs and volunteers, besides NRIs from Punjab,” he wrote.

Sandhu added, “If Sanjay Singh was nominated because of his work, many said leaders such as Kumar Vishwas and Ashutosh should not have been ignored.”

AAP had nominated Sanjay Singh, ND Gupta and Sushil Gupta to the Rajya Sabha last week. The decision had irked Kumar Vishwas, who later launched a tirade against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Senior AAP leader and a cabinet colleague of Kejriwal, Gopal Rai, had later claimed that Vishwas had hatched a conspiracy to topple the Delhi government.
