‘Aap Khaane Kyun De Rahe Hain?’ Rahul Gandhi questions PM Modi’s unkept promise after Vyapam

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Vyapam scam, which has taken the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh to the task.

“Our PM said and I want to remind you. ‘I won’t eat and won’t allow others to eat.’ Your words should carry some weight. Aap Khaane Kyun De Rahey Hain (Why are you letting people eat?) In Rajasthan and in Madhya Pradesh, why are you allowing them to continue and why are you not bringing back Lalit Modi?” questioned Gandhi.

Gandhi also said that MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan should resign.

Gandhi’s remarks come on the same day when the Supreme Court transferred the investigation into the Vyapam scam to CBI and issued a notice to Madhya Pradesh governor Ram Naresh Yadav on a petition seeking his removal for his involvement in the scandal.

Earlier this morning, it emerged that a constable in Madhya Pradesh who died two months ago was to appear as a key witness in the deadly Vyapam scam.

This had taken the mysterious death count of people who have died in MP while investigating the scam to 48.
