Delhi Police’s economic offence wing has booked four companies, who had allegedly made donations to Aam Admi Party worth crores of rupees during tbe 2014 assembly elections.

A report carried by Navbharat Times said that the FIR against these companies were filed under fraud (420) and criminal conspiracy and forgery (465).

Accordig to the report, the decision to book these companies was taken at the behest of the central government’s corporate affairs ministry.

AAP’s breakaway group AAM had alleged that these four companies had made donations to the Arvind Kejriwal-led party worth Rs 2.5 crore each. It had moved Election  Commission and Delhi Police but had failed to provide evidence to corroborate it’s claims.

Quoting sources, the Times of India claimed that the corporate affairs ministry had conducted preliminary inquiry against these companies and found serious instances of frauds and misleading information.

Some reportedly had fake addresses while one company in paetocular had forged the signature of their chartered accountant.

AAP had always denied charges levelled by AVAM, which had drawn flak for not being able to prove their allegations.
